The AMD Ryzen 5 8500G is a 6-core processor launched in January 2024. It is part of the Ryzen 5 lineup, utilizing the Zen 4 (Phoenix) architecture with the AM5 socket. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT), the core count is effectively doubled to 12 threads. The Ryzen 5 8500G features 16MB of L3 cache and operates at a base clock of 3.5GHz, boosting up to 5.0GHz depending on the workload.
AMD manufactures the Ryzen 5 8500G on a 4nm production node using 20,900 million transistors. The chip's silicon die is not manufactured by AMD, but at the TSMC foundry. The multiplier is locked on the Ryzen 5 8500G, which limits its overclocking potential.
